For the last few weeks, there haven't been enough quotes to post so here's a compilation of the Spoiler TV team's favorite quotes in August so far. We'd love to hear your picks too so please sound off in the comments below.

Major Crimes -
1. Rusty (asking Andy, an alcoholic, if it's safe to trust his addict mother): "How do you know when to give someone another chance?" Andy: "There’s no formula, but not giving people another chance sometimes hurts you more than them." (Prpleight)
2. Tao: "We keep our whole lives on our cells these days." Provenza: "Really? I only have phone numbers." Buzz: "And a few cat videos." (Prpleight)

1. Sean: "We got him, Harvey. The good guys won." Harvey: "Then I guess the next time you see me, I'm gonna be pretending to be outraged that you hadn't notified us of your new witness." Sean: "And I'll be pretending to be outraged at whatever BS you're trying to pull." Harvey: "Well, I'll try not to be too outrageous." Sean: "You do that." Harvey: "Thanks, Sean." Sean: "You're welcome, Harvey." (Laura Markus)
2. Sean: "What are you coming to me here for, Harvey, Sutter's 30 feet away." Harvey: "Relax. He thinks I'm making sure that you didn't pull another fast one with discovery. So as long as it looks like we're arguing, we're fine." Sean: "That's not gonna be a problem 'cause I got some news. Two seconds after you left, she put us on the docket. We go to trial in five days, and right now I don't have sh**." Harvey: "What do you want me to say, Sean? I'm already using what we did to shake the trees with his employees." Sean: "That's not good enough. So you need to go back to that prison and tell Mike that he better get me something and get it fast 'cause I didn't sell my soul last night to watch that bastard ride off into the sunset." (Laura Markus)
3. Louis: "Last night, I had the most amazing time with Tara. I know you're both picturing it involved fantastic sex." Gretchen: "Nope." Donna: "Not a bit." Louis: "In any event, Tara and I have a date on Friday night, and I'm hoping it ends with our souls merging as one." Gretchen: "And I'm out." Louis: "What? Why?" Gretchen: "Because I am a professional secretary, Louis. I'm not here to help you play hide the Litt with some strumpet." Louis: "She so doesn't get me." Donna: "You know what, Louis? She has a point." (Laura Markus)

2016 Character Cup - Winner and Stats

2016 CHARACTER CUP WINNER:

Sameen Shaw

It's been over 60 polls, but we finally have a winner. Congratulations to Sameen Shaw of Person of Interest, who also got the most votes of any contestant with 6380 votes and was the only contestant to receive over 2,000 votes in a single round. She joins Jack from LOST, Dean and Castiel from Supernatural, and Root from Person of Interest in our Hall of Retired Winners. Congratulations to Person of Interest fans and all other fandoms, who supported their favorites. Lexa from The 100, Laurel from Arrow, and Regina from Once Upon a Time were the only other characters in the Cup who received over 1,000 votes in a single poll, with Lexa having the second highest number of votes at 5714 but Laurel Lance winning 2nd place. In our Favorite Villain Contest, the winner was Kilgrave from Jessica Jones and the runner-up was Jim Moriarty from Sherlock.

Congratulations also go to Good Samaritan, for winning our prediction contest with 86 points. You rock! The all important bragging rights go to you! Other top predictors were Kirov with 82 points and a tie for third for Suzana and Paola with 79 points. Great job! Double congrats to you all for predicting such a topsy turvy contest. As for the Wish List Contest, Silver is the big winner with 79 points while Rendy (RN) comes in second with 67 points and Emma in third with 48 points. Glad so many of your favorites pulled through. Thanks to everyone who participated in the prediction contest. No matter the results, I hope you had fun with it. I know I did.

Thanks so much to everyone who participated through voting, predicting, or commenting. I especially appreciate everyone who participated in the TV Talk Topics, my favorite part of the contest, for making my hiatus go by a little faster. It was awesome talking TV with all of you. Special thanks also goes out to those who submitted pictures for the polls. You guys rock! Finally, thanks as always to Andy, without whom there would be no SpoilerTV, the best TV website I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. If you have just joined us for the contest, I encourage you to make SpoilerTV your first stop for pre-episode information and post-episode discussion. There is no greater community to talk about TV with than here at SpoilerTV.

Thanks again for joining us and don't forget the Favorite Show Contest starts soon. Nominations end August 12 so get them in. I know it will be an exciting race. Head over to submit your nominees and of course to discuss your favorite shows. There's lots more good TV Talk to be had.  Since I am a trivia fan and because I got a positive response for them last year, I've gathered some general facts about the contest below along with the original and final rankings.

2016 Character Cup - Final Round

After a few stops and starts, we have made it to the finals of the 2016 Character Cup. Congratulations to the Person of Interest and Arrow fandoms for reaching the final round and a big thanks to everyone who has participated in the TV Talk Topics. It's been a great time discussing TV with you. Included in this round are also the polls for 3rd and 4th place in both the Character Cup and Favorite Villain Contest. Please don't get confused because these are merely for sake of placement and does not mean that the winners continue to another round. All polls remain open for 24 hours like always and I will officially announce the winner on Monday. A big thank you to everyone who played by the rules in this contest and who helped make the discussion great. You are the best part of the Character Cup. Good luck to all and until Monday, don't forget to add your thoughts on the TV Talk Topic. Happy voting!

Note - Before we end, I need to say a huge thank you to Richard Murray, who provided many of the photos for the latter rounds of the Character Cup this year. I really appreciate how much time he took making sure the pictures would work by cropping and clearing up the pictures. Thanks to everyone who helped with the pictures because it made my job so much easier.

Prediction Contest - Going into the final round, Good Samaritan moves to first place with a score of 80 points, while Terminus rejoins the leader board in second with 77 points. Kirov is right behind them with 76 points. Very impressive for all!

Wish List Contest - Our wish list contest still sees Silver and RN in the lead with Silver at 73 points and PN at 67 points. Emma moves into third with 42 points. Congrats about your favorites going far!

Today's TV Talk Topic: Character Storylines

First off, a big thank you to everyone who suggested a TV Talk Topic. We had so many great ideas that I have a good start on next year's topics too. Of all the topics that came out, one of them really made me think and so it becomes our last TV Talk Topic of the Cup. Thanks so much to Angela for the initial suggestion. It sparked a whole lot of discussion potential for me, so much that there's a Part A and a Part B now.

Part A - Think about 1-3 characters you really like that are still on a TV show that will air sometime next season. (No dead characters or shows that have ended please.) What storylines would you like to see those characters have in the upcoming season? Which other characters should they interact with more and why? Is there an aspect of their personality/background/life that you would like to see explored more? Are there other skills that the character should develop or be allowed to use more often?

Part B - Herein lies the brilliance of the topic because it forces us all to go beyond our own prejudices about a character. Think about 1-3 characters you dislike the most of all shows that will air next season. What storylines could possibly change your mind about that character and make you either like them or at least tolerate them more? You cannot kill them off, have them leave the show, isolate them like putting them in a coma, or drastically reduce their screen time. That would be too easy. What other characters should they interact with that could make them more tolerable? If they need one, would a redemption arc help or hurt them? What positive/interesting character traits do they have that could be focused on more to make them more palatable to you?

2016 Character Cup - Round 5 Rerun

After a delay in the contest, we are ready to move on in the Character Cup. Andy, our fearless leader here at SpoilerTV, has talked to the polling software company and it looks like things are back on track. Just in case though, there will be a 2 day break between today's votes and the final round, just to be sure. Because this is simply a rerun of the Final Four poll that should have happened, we do not have the Favorite Villain poll or a new TV Talk Topic. However, feel free to create your own and discuss away in the comments section below. Happy voting and we'll be back 2 days after this vote ends to run the final polls and declare a winner. Thanks so much for your patience while we work with a new polling system that is more accurate than the older one.
