2016 Character Cup - Winner and Stats

2016 CHARACTER CUP WINNER:

Sameen Shaw

It's been over 60 polls, but we finally have a winner. Congratulations to Sameen Shaw of Person of Interest, who also got the most votes of any contestant with 6380 votes and was the only contestant to receive over 2,000 votes in a single round. She joins Jack from LOST, Dean and Castiel from Supernatural, and Root from Person of Interest in our Hall of Retired Winners. Congratulations to Person of Interest fans and all other fandoms, who supported their favorites. Lexa from The 100, Laurel from Arrow, and Regina from Once Upon a Time were the only other characters in the Cup who received over 1,000 votes in a single poll, with Lexa having the second highest number of votes at 5714 but Laurel Lance winning 2nd place. In our Favorite Villain Contest, the winner was Kilgrave from Jessica Jones and the runner-up was Jim Moriarty from Sherlock.

Congratulations also go to Good Samaritan, for winning our prediction contest with 86 points. You rock! The all important bragging rights go to you! Other top predictors were Kirov with 82 points and a tie for third for Suzana and Paola with 79 points. Great job! Double congrats to you all for predicting such a topsy turvy contest. As for the Wish List Contest, Silver is the big winner with 79 points while Rendy (RN) comes in second with 67 points and Emma in third with 48 points. Glad so many of your favorites pulled through. Thanks to everyone who participated in the prediction contest. No matter the results, I hope you had fun with it. I know I did.

Thanks so much to everyone who participated through voting, predicting, or commenting. I especially appreciate everyone who participated in the TV Talk Topics, my favorite part of the contest, for making my hiatus go by a little faster. It was awesome talking TV with all of you. Special thanks also goes out to those who submitted pictures for the polls. You guys rock! Finally, thanks as always to Andy, without whom there would be no SpoilerTV, the best TV website I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. If you have just joined us for the contest, I encourage you to make SpoilerTV your first stop for pre-episode information and post-episode discussion. There is no greater community to talk about TV with than here at SpoilerTV.

Thanks again for joining us and don't forget the Favorite Show Contest starts soon. Nominations end August 12 so get them in. I know it will be an exciting race. Head over to submit your nominees and of course to discuss your favorite shows. There's lots more good TV Talk to be had.  Since I am a trivia fan and because I got a positive response for them last year, I've gathered some general facts about the contest below along with the original and final rankings.
